Hi All,

I have a Mid 2011 13" Macbook Air with a 1.7 Ghz Intel Core i5, 4 GB RAM and the Intel 3000 HD integrated graphics. Does anyone know if the Old Republic MMO is playable at the native resolution in Bootcamp? The minimum requirements according to Bioware's page are the Intel 4100 but I don't know how the 3000 HD compares.

Thank you kindly.

I tried to get it working on my friends macbook air so he could play with us.

Even at the lowest resolution and everything on low it was at about 10 fps (unplayable), however that is kind of unaccepteable as the HD3000 should have the power to do it on the lowest settings (SWTOR isn't a very demanding game, I can run it maxed with a 650M at 1080p). The problem with SWTOR and the HD3000 is definitely driver related. Seeing as the game is free to play, I'd recommend updating all of your graphics drivers in bootcamp ( go here and download the most recent driver, do this while your in bootcamp). and then download SWTOR and try it out.

I tried it in about March of 2012 with a MacBook Air identical in specs to yours to no avail.

A little off topic but a little something I wrote about The Old Republic and a potential Mac port.

I love SWTOR. Play it semi-often. Have yet to hit the level cap with any  single character though despite having a few hundred hours in  the game since 2011. I have about 9 characters between levels 20-40.

Crazy fool ;)

Its prolly for the best, considering the last area, Corelia, is the worst in game design ever. Its a mash of copy paste and tons of debris. I hated it more than Taris.

The game is more enjoyable at lower levels in the earlier areas... so its best to bail on a character when you reach 40 and start another ;)

Have you tried the expansion with the new lvl 50-55 planet?

Nope. I have not been back since I cancelled.
