Feral's Borderlands port runs superfluid on my setup as well. I think Feral did a great job considering Apple's lack of a Direct X equivalent. Try turning off shadows and ambient occlusion for one. More RAM always helps... maybe a MacPro in which you can slap in a Radeon 5870 or NVIDIA GTX 285?

I have tried to run it in a Mac Pro with GB RAM, a Radeon HD 4890 (1 GB VRAM) and also on a MacBook Pro (Late 2011) with 8 GB RAM and the Radeon HD 6770 M (1GB VRAM).

Turning off shadows and ambient occlusion? Why? The hardware can handle it! Give us proper drivers/performance for games in OS X instead (whoever the responsibility lies on)! :P :)

I run the game full bore as much settings and whatnots it got, and it runs solid at full 90fps (native refresh for vsync). Oh, but thats on my PC ;)

I run Borderlands 1 perfectly smooth @1980*1080 with Dynamic Shadows turned off, it runs okey with it turned on, I just prefer the extra fps.
Also if you want the same performance as windows users get, well then you´ll have to get Windows. You simply can´t expect to get the same performance on a mac, all though ports from Feral/Aspyr come close and are sometimes on par with their windows equals. Actually Rage ran better on Lion/ML than it did in win7 for me personally.

Seriously though if you need to have 60fps with everything on max @ native resolution you should just go through the hoops and install windows 7/8, its not that bad of an OS.

Win 7 is fairly decent as a game rig OS. I still don't like using it for anything but launching games though ;) Prefer my mac for Everything Else™

Get a Radeon HD 5870 in that MacPro and come back. ;)

That's what I meant, people on mac forums seem to think that win7 is the devil, something it's not. If you absolutely want the newest games/top performance, just install windows and play on that partition and use your OS X partition for everything else.

Personally I removed my Win7 partition, and thats not because its a bad OS(its not), I simply removed it because it didn't satisfy my gaming needs more than Lion/ML does.

Sorry if I am ranting abit, I am just tired of seeing people complaining about performance, and mac gaming in general.

Been playing BL2 (early access) and its runs flawlessly on max settings so far. See my signature for specs.

I'm going to try it out on my MBA in the next few days to see how it performs on minimum and/or under spec hardware.

Totally awesome so far. Aspyr has done an amazing job with this. Can't wait till everyone can play it. Of course I can hop in MP with all the PC players, but would rather play with Mac friends.

I also plan on trying to stream and/or record some gameplay for upload. Stay tuned!

I'd be very interested in a stream/video, glad to hear it performs well.
