How exactly did that go unnoticed? Feral has announced that the current official Formula 1 game — F1 2012 — will come to the Mac "later this year". And in case you are wondering: it's apparently not "Fade to Grey". Apparently it is.

Very cool. I've got it on PS3 and PC, and it's about a billion times better on PC, where you have 1080p and so forth. I'll be interested to see how well Feral keep up with Codies' ferocious updating on PC, or if they're purposefully getting in on it after patching has died down.

Either way, very nice job by Feral.

Did not see this one coming, its not even on their radar.

I just hope it supports Lion as my iMac has got the annoying sound stutter bug in ML!

Another interesting part will be the system requirements, but knowing Feral, performance will be excellent as always.

Edit: Their radar has been updated, and F1 2012 IS "fade to grey"!

How the Fudge did I miss this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And just as I am working on the 2012 F1 cars for Auto Sport Driving :P I never thought I would see this one. I would never have checked the images for F1 2012 as that never really crossed my mind as a possibility for "fade to grey". I thought F1 2000 CS would be the last official F1 game to ever see the light of day on Mac. :)

Yes but as you alluded you will be on the lower resolution / settings. Especially on the HD3000.

Final spec to follow.

Hi, does the boxed edition come with a manual, like F1 CS 2000 did?

I can't speak for the boxed version as I got the download but like all recent Feral titles it still includes a pdf of the manual accessible via the pre-game options window.
