It's a joke. The tile-walking was clearly absurd.

Latest rumor is that it'll come after 2013 and be an open-world game.

Personally I will believe it when I see it. I seriously doubted this Easter egg before I actually read the thread. Mind you, I could imagine Valve "releasing" HL3 on Steam for April Foolss or something.

Yeah I'm keeping a skeptical mind about Half-Life 3 or 2: Episode 3 here until further notice until they make an official announcement. Also, if easter egg was empirical evidence I'd think it'd be much of a bigger deal than it is. It was pretty neat although yeah the tile walking seemed pretty absurdshady. There's nothing to stop people from making custom levels that do that as well as BS'ing us about the way to activate it.

The guy, Jimbothy (or w/e) is a fake poster. By that I mean, he edits vids to seem like legit secrets or easter eggs. He did the same thing in Black ops 2 claiming there was a secret "Nuke" killstreak like in MW2. But there isn't. So I'm going to go with this being fake as well.

The stupidly rediclous "2 forward, 4 to the side, 3 back the other way, 1 to the rear, 3 more to the front, 2 back, 2 to the left etc" directions he didn't even follow himself should be a clue that this is BS.  That's not to say there won't ever be a Half Life 3, but this is no Easter egg.

Hehe yes. Plus you can build your own 'test chambers' in Portal 2 to share with others. So his so called secret chamber can and is easily just some self made thing.
