Why not HD3000 and HD4000 support??? I'm pretty sure HD4000 can run this game at medium/low settings.

Pre-bought! Mac Game Store! Just in time for my vacation! And take the kids to the zoo... ;)

PC Minimum System Requirements:

Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom™ X3 8750 or better
Memory: 12 GB free hard drive space / 2GB RAM
Video Card: Shader 3.0 or better 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600GT / ATI Radeon® X1950Pro or better
Internet Connection Required

According to videocardbenchmark.net the X1950 Pro is nearly twice as fast as the HD4000 although I see the 8000 NVIDIA series is also not supported but meets the minimum requirements on the PC. Who can be blamed? I don't know. I bought and ran Doom 3 on my MDD G4 1GHz/Radeon 9800Pro with a lot of CFG editing, but that wasn't going to stop me from getting my Doom 3 fix. God willing it doesn't come with a system checker that will stop it from even running... that would suck.
OS X 10.8.x/Windows 7 Pro/2009 MacPro 4,1 Xeon W3520 2.66GHz/8GB RAM/NVIDIA GTX680 2GB

I'll see if I can weasel an "unofficial" response out of Aspyr about this. As if the game would run on low/mid settings just not be supported.

*edit* nevermind, did my own testing. (posted this in another thread too, so just taking a snippet)

I just tested Black Ops on my MacBook Air. It ran very smoothly on the auto-detect settings, which was 1024x768 resolution and medium settings. The machine itself is "unsupported" in the processor, video card department and OS version. It wants 10.7.4.

MBA Specs: 13" Mid 2011. 1.7 GHz Core i5. 4GB RAM. Intel HD 3000 (384mb) Lion 10.7.3.

I played through the first mission smoothly..I may even try turning up a few things.

That's a bummer about the content packs being separate purchases.

At least one is included!

You can't expect them to include 4 free DLC packs. They are still separate purchases on the PC for the same $15 price per pack. Its not like there is some GOTY edition where its all bundled for $50.

That being said the last 2 content packs will be available for $25 in a bundle. Saves you $5 I guess.

The price does seem steep. So far I've found the extra maps to be really good and worth getting to play on. Both in MP and Zombies mode.

Not a fan of paying for what should have been in the game from the start. Full expansion packs, sure, but "a gun" or "a new suit" or "one map" ... hell no.

Yeah, but I already bought the game once. If I could get the game with packs at a decent price, I'd buy it again to play it on the mac side. But as it is it's not worth it, especially since I only play zombie mode now.

Don't disagree. But you can't expect the devs to launch the game with like 30 maps :P The DLC was released over a year I believe. There's no extra guns or suits. Just 5 maps per pack. Yeah its overpriced and silly, but I've got 2 of the packs so far and the maps are really good. It would be nice to see this at no more than $10, but $15 is the going price for DLC these days, whether you are CoD or not it seems. :(

That being said, I think the base game could have / should have come with 1-2 of the map packs. FOUR extra map packs does seem excessive. Two seems a lot more reasonable for post-game content over time. We are at least getting one pack "free" with the base game on Mac. That's a bonus. Value wise its actually $5 cheaper than the PC version of the game + the DLC. $10 cheaper if you are pre-ordering.

If you want everything (over time, not saying this is all a bundle) its going to run you $90 (or $85 pre-order) which is high. Base game $50, Rezzurection DLC is $15 (available at launch) and the next 2 will be out sometime in November, bundled for $25. (The "Dual Threat" bundle.) I didn't hear if those will be available separately as well or not. Maybe they will bundle all 3 sometime for a fair price? (Like $30 instead of $40.) That would be neat.

That's too bad. Do you already have all the packs for the PC version? The Mac version does include First Strike at least with the base game :P Otherwise keep an eye out for some sales on the DLC. I wouldn't want to buy everything all over again either, but sadly there's no GOTY style edition where everything is bundled. Its the same scenario on PC.

This is kind of why I'm on the 2 year plan... I buy games that are 2 years old because by the time I buy them they are full bundles of stuff ;) And seeing how long it takes me to get around to playing the game, well... the 2 year plan seems to work out. Hehehe.
