Personally all I really want is a bigger screen and LTE. Both of which should definitely be on it.

Curious about whether or not they're going to move to a quad core A6 system or not. I kind of doubt it, but I'd love to be wrong. It seems that phone manufacturers are having a hard time fitting both LTE and quad core into a phone right now. I think were past the point in phones where a new killer feature will be announced that will wow everyone.

So specs are:
-A6 Processor (2x faster CPU, 2x faster GPU)
-4" Display 1136x640 (same ppi)
-thinner and lighter
-Same camera as the 4S, but can now do panorama mode
-improved front camera
-LTE
-New dock connector "Lightning"
-No NFC

My wish is for a new iPod Touch without a popsnizzlety sub-megapixel camera! I would instantly replace mine if they did that.

Indeed. I have small requests and is satisfied no matter what is released. The only thing I'm not looking forward to, is the raving hordes of retards that expects that the iPhone 5 to be totally different from the avalanche of leaks, and that it can make coffee and walk your battle cat.

The case was leaked, including the back, though we didn't know apple would call the colors "Black & Slate / White & Silver." The only thing we didn't really know was the A6, and camera specs.

There's very little Apple can do regarding leaks once the phone goes into production. We're seeing more because of larger and longer production ramp-ups to satisfy the increasing demand. We don't see any leaks with the iPods because these large production ramp-ups aren't required (and there's probably a lot less demand from case makers for leaked iPod information.)

I'm in. The problem for me is I want to switch to Verizon, but the Share Everything is a huge rip-off for single devices/users. My wife has another 10 mos. or so on her contract. If I stay w/ AT&T, I'll keep my plan. (3GB, voice, & text) for $5 less than the 1GB Share Everything plan with Verizon. ???

YES! New iPod Touch has everything that was right with the 4th gen Touch, none of the things that were wrong with it, and a bunch more. I like the new rear case, too. The stainless was always pretty when brand new, but they used an alloy that is SO FREAKING SOFT that a dust mite crawling across it would etch the crap out of the thing inside a week. I baby my devices and I'm super careful with them, and even so after only 9 months of use the rear of my iPod Touch looks like you attacked it with a freakin' brillo pad. And it's looked like that for the past 8 months. By comparison my RAZR2 V9x phone, which sees tons of use itself, still looks practically new.

Anyway, yeah. My Touch is getting replaced with a 5th gen 64GB, baby. The time has finally come to go all-in.

I'll actually miss Siri as it is now. Few things in life have made me absolutely laugh my guts out like some of the messages I get from people trying to dictate imessages to me via Siri. One of my favorite examples that I asked for a screenshot of:

ah, I misunderstood the Arstechnica feed then, they stated black, white, and slate colors.

A6 was known already, which leaves the camera as the only unknown specification then.

I don't see much compelling reasons to upgrade from my iPhone 4. Ah, well... maybe when the iPhone X has a built-in matter transporter.

One non-iPhone related message I took from that event is that a mythical iPad mini would be far more expensive that its 7" brethren, seeing that the iPod touch costs at least $300. So, a $200 7" iPad would be an extremely odd business decision (unless it's horribly gimped, compared to the iPod).

The news that surprisingly piqued my interest the most was the announcement of a reworked iTunes. But I'll curb my enthusiasm until it's clear whether they really completely reworked that increasingly bloated monster or if they just slapped a new layer of make-up on the pig.
