The Insidemacgames Forum has been upgraded to the latest and greatest. Along with it some changes to the template are now in effect. Yes we know it looks like this, yes this is intentional, and no we are not going to do any changes to it. Unless something is directly broken, there is no need to comment on the new look. Thank you.

Fine, I won't comment then. Be that way. This isn't a comment. Just thinking out loud. To no one in particular.

Not unless you wish too. The new code uses 'one' image now for avatar/profile/thumb.

Yeah, everybody's avatar went bye bye and the system swapped in the profile picture.  i would have defaulted it to the forum avatar if I were writing the code, there are many more people with forum avatars than profile pics, and I think people are more familiar with people's avatars than their profile pic.  No big whoop but I need to make a larger forum avatar.  Now mines dinky compared to the new size we are allowed.

There's no option to turn off avatars anymore, so now I'm forced to look at your ugly mugs.  :yuk:  On the other hand, :whip: there are a lot :showoff: more smilies.  :finger:

Well, good thing there isn't much in the way of mugs in people's avatars. ;) Also what's up with my new forum title and switching around which picture is being shown as the avatar? The one that is showing now used to be animated and was my photo. Now my old avatar is showing as what you see when you go to my profile and my photo is now my avatar and is static. :P Ah, I see what others said above.. well.. guess I may want to change mine... Hmm... time to insert a bigger one... :P

There may not be a need to comment on the new look but I'm going to anyway :P

Its nice, but since the main site isn't updated its weird and jarring when you switch. Before it had a consistent theme. Oh well. Maybe this will drag the main site into an upgrade sooner.

It takes too much time to build a whole new custom skin when the forum code changed everything about the templates (old templates couldn't even be used in the slightest). So I selected a default skin that wasn't pink flying ponies or facebook blue ;) And that will be that.

I think he'd rather see the main site adopt the same look as the forum rather than the forum get a custom theme to match the main site... and I agree.

Good luck with that! Hehe. It would actually take farrrrrrrrr less time making a custom template, than it would to recode the nasty-assed html2.0 php1.0 tripe that creates the IMG pages. Er, wait, did I say that out loud?

Indeed. Though some are duplicates, for instance: :glare:

Stop giving tBC ideas, OK?  Anyway, I'm mostly relieved that a huge, long-standing problem with the smilies is finally resolved.  Namely, say you're banging your head against the wall, repeatedly.  OK, so you use the appropriate smiley: :wall:   That's all well and good, but what if you need to bang your head IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION???  Until now, we had no choice.  Right-facing head-banging was the only option we had, no matter how desperately we needed to head-bang the other way.  We bore this insult in silence all these years, but at last--at last!--we can do left-facing head-banging!!!  :wallbash: Yes, a deeply-felt need has been fulfilled, better late than never.  :wall: :wallbash:

I believe the duplicates is due to legacy.

Doing :) and  result in the same image. But are not really the same code. Lots of old posts have the old "" and "" and "" codes, while the new forum processes ":)" ":(" ";)".

(and yes, I turned off smilies in this post to show the codes)

Nah, is "dry" and :glare: is "glare".  Clearly they are totally different; don't know what Janichsan is wibbling on about.  (They are different though, really.  "At least two pixels different" qualifies as "totally different", no?)

Its still due to legacy. The "glare" is new (its a png), and the "dry" is legacy (its a gif). Lots of old posts use "dry" because "glare" didn't exist. I could remove "glare"... but its too late now, you used it ;) *snerk*
