Anyone ever hear of a game called Slender? It's making waves out on youtube with folks playing the game and being scared out of their minds by it.
Premise. You play as an unknown female someone who wonders into the woods at night and climbs over a fence into an isolated area. Her objective is to collect eight pages that have been placed randomly around key points. It's not until you pick up one page that someone... or something starts stalking you.
This game is free and is available for the Mac. You can get it here.
You know a game is serious business when a resurrected Tom from Toonami reviews it and tells you to check it out.

I downloaded it after my son told me about it from You Tube. I walked around until I got bored from not finding any pages.

I've seen this aroung but I didn't know it was available for mac, thanks for alerting us to it Jeyl
I watched this one video a few weeks ago and it scared me into making sure I don't download it.
As a side point it is an interesting concept. I would really love other developers to pursue this simplicity of gameplay. It's funny how, in this case such, a simple idea of grabbing pages in a forest can still freak the hell out of people when you add a creepy thing following you around.
Maybe one day I'll work up the courage to download it.
I'm surprised dojoboy that you weren't freaked out even without finding the pages, that would probably freak me out even more
Anyone else had a go?

If you decide to start a new game, stick to the open path and follow it to the left and you'll come across a strange tree. That's usually where I get my first page. Pages will always be on the side of objects. And just remember that not every location has a page. They're randomly generated so keep on hunting.
P.S. He cheats when you get six pages.

Game looks boring and the youtube videos solidify my resentment of youtube in general.

My son was telling me that he and his friends were so freaked out after playing it for a while that after dark they walked home in groups. I told him that next time they escorted him to his house, say goodnight, wait for them to turn back. Then sneak behind them for a minute and then jump out at them.
Worked like a charm. :-)
