In a recent Twitter post Overhaul Games' Trent Oster revealed that Baldur's Gate 2: Enhanced Edition will be released in 2013. BG2EE will include the original game as well as the Throne of Bhaal expansion, and is likely to offer new content and characters as well. The company is currently working on Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, which is scheduled to release sometime before the end of September 2012.

BGEE is an updated version of Bioware's fantasy role playing game set in the Forgotten Realms. The game will feature an enhanced version of the Infinity Engine, the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion pack, a new adventure, and a new party member. Baldur's Gate: Enhanced edition will also allow cross-platform multiplayer with Windows PC and iPad users.

So right now I'm playing Diablo, Tomb Raider and, shortly, BG.

Twelve years ago I was playing Diablo, Tomb Raider and BG.

Let joy be unconfined!

(Seriously though, I'm hyped about this. BG2 was one my most favourite games ever).

Baldurs Gate 1 is shared at the #1 spot for me, with being the best game ever (The other one being Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time), so I'm equally hyped.
"They're everywhere!"

And now, time for some Legend of Zelda.

I liked BG quite a bit.  But then I replayed Fallout after I finished BG2 and all I could think was, "It's amazing how much better than BG this is."

Nothing against the idea of this package, especially if it really is enhanced.  I'm not sure it speaks well of the current state of cRPGs though.
