What is Steam Greenlight?
Steam Greenlight is a new system that enlists the community's help in picking some of the next games to be released on Steam. Developers post information, screenshots, and videos for their game and seek a critical mass of community support in order to get selected for distribution. Steam Greenlight also helps developers get feedback from potential customers and start creating an active community around their game as early in the development process as they like.

Should help with some of the indie games not being published by established names that have been having a difficulty getting in.

this looks quite promising.

I know that there's several other services similar to this, but I think it's safe to say that steam is the largest and most popular PC game provider/community, so it's awesome that they are providing this.

All indie games are welcomed at the Mac Game Store. All they have to do is ask, there is no fascist rule, or ridiculous requirements and hoops to jump through to appease the Apple Gods to get a game posted for sale.

An interesting concept and one that hopefully helps smaller/indie devs jump on the Steam bandwagon. I voted up a few I've played like Syder Arcade which is really great.
