Feral Interactive has announced the release of an update for Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Ultimate Edition. Version 1.0.1 fixes a few audio and video issues, in addition to improving support for third-party mice and trackpads.

The augmentation debate was fuelled earlier this week as David Sarif announced the latest update for Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Ultimate Edition, Picus TV reports.

Version 1.0.1 fixes an audio track issue that was affecting the final video of the game, an issue that was affecting the right-click function in some trackpads and a graphical error that occurred on some models in the AMD 4000 series of graphics cards. It also improves support for third-party mice and trackpads.

Whether you think updates allow games to fulfil their true potential or believe Sarif is playing God, you can download the update for free today. Mac App Store customers can update by opening the App Store and clicking on the “Updates” tab. Everyone else will be automatically prompted to update their copy of the game when they open the Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Ultimate Edition application.

Anyone unclear on the issues surrounding augmentation will find a visit the Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Ultimate Edition minisite informative.

^ This. The boxed version was said to be released about two weeks after the download version – three weeks ago...

Yay! I got an email on Friday saying it had been dispatched and it duly arrived yesterday in time to stop all thoughts of study :)

The box is very nice and I've been able to play through the 1st mission and am now out and about in the city. I did have to run the game at a lower resolution and turn down some settings which I wasn't expecting. Maybe I need to upgrade from my 4870 to max out performance :) I'm playing it on the hardest difficulty and that was definitely the right choice. It feels like the highest difficulty in DX 1 as in get hit by a shotgun at close range and you're going down so you need to be careful. Ammo is on short supply which I've noticed as thus far I'm killing everything that moves. You don't seem to be able to have a favourite weapon .. it's more which has got any bullet left :D

Augmentation screen is nice but haven't really used any as I've just maxed the hacking. Quite like the mechanic for that so far but we'll see if it gets old. Not had time to experiment with weapon upgrades or anything. Inventory space is limited.. I noticed this more than in DX1 as items (even ammo!!) take up more spaces which is a bit annoying. I'm already at the stage where I don't want to drop anything as it's all ammo or essential items (like the hacking things). Already dumped the combat rifle and sniper rifle as I didn't have the space. This makes me wonder about weapon upgrades... what's the point of upgrading them when maybe you'll get to a point and have to dump it ?

But overall very nice. I love the art direction (never thought I'd say that about a game!) and so far feel it's a great successor to DX1 and 2 (yes I played 2 all the way through :P).

Thanks Feral!

There's an augmentation for upgrading your inventory space, its under the strength aug (arm icon) in the bottom left area.

You can only hold so many weapons and ammo. You can start finding upgrades on the very first mission (recover the typhoon) so I suggest picking 2, at the most 3, weapons to upgrade and stick with it. If you want to experiment, that's fine, but try and find a few you like and do those. The game is meant to be played multiple times, so don't be afraid to experiment with different weapon sets.

Thanks for the pointer :) I actually spotted that about an hour after my post and though I'd better come back and update.

Still enjoying it at the moment. Made it to China .. but was annoying I had that MCB gang member missing bug so had to leave that quest incomplete.

Never ran into any quest bugs in the game, even with 4 playthroughs. Which quest exactly?

It's mentioned quite a bit on various forums - doesn't effect everyone. It might be because of my excessive exploring before actually getting quests relevant to those locations. It's an early mission where you have to take a certain gang leader down without killing him but take care of all of his body guards. The game doesn't correctly spawn all of the bodyguards .. so you kill them all but one is missing because it's 200 metres in the air or something (from what people were saying online). So the mission status never progresses from telling you to take them all out before you can go to X to complete the mission. I think there's supposed to be two gangsters outside the door to the apartment while I only had one.

But it's a general bug with the game rather than Feral's port and not everyone has it. Next time I play through I'll try to only go to locations when I'm told to and see if that makes a difference ;)
