A week ago, Gaijin Entertainment announced that their hack'n'slash Blades of Time will be released on April 18 for Windows and Mac. The game didn't really get great reviews when it was released a while ago for consoles but it's nice to see that some companies increasingly bring their games also for the Mac.

As far as I know it was released just a few weeks to a month ago, so not that far back.

*edit* just checked, it got released on March 6th, so a pretty quick port.

Looked interesting, but it did get bad reviews pretty much all around. Maybe it will be cool on the Mac I'm interested in checking it out as long as the controls aren't really poor as some console-to-pc/mac ports are.

Ah, I just noticed this tonight... it's interesting seeing some japanese russian (I saw konami and almost thought it was japanese ) developers starting to get into bringing games to the Mac. Don't get a lot of those.. this game was also published on the consoles by Konami. The graphics look good to me and I wouldn't mind having to play it with a gamepad if that's what it takes. But if they do make good keyboard and mouse controls so much the better. I wonder how they are handing it for Mac if they hired some Mac developers or if they are just going to port it to windows and then wrap it for the Mac. Well, they do make iOS games apparently so perhaps they are using some of that experience making it for Mac.

I noticed some of the same mechanics as devil may cry such as grabbing floating orbs to pull yourself up like in DMC4. Speaking of which I wouldn't mind if Capcom brought the DMC series to the Mac. Also a dashing move that reminds me directly of Alice Madness Returns but I realize other games have it too like Star Wars The Force Unleashed.

To put things into perspective a bit that's the GPU in the 2011 Mac Mini.

I think they are pretty much saying. Out of the Macs that are out now you should at least get a Mac Mini with AMD graphics in it. The 6630 isn't a barn burner in fact higher end parts of previous generations beat it. For example:

I found different system requirements for the Windows version:
Pentium 4 3.2 GHz
GeForce 210 or Radeon HD 6310

Could it be the different sites are simply guessing?

Hadn't even heard of this until I spotted it on macgamestore - it doesn't look as bad as the reviews suggest and it is certainly something a bit different so I might pick it up in a sale one day.

I played this and the mac port is pretty well done as far as performance goes. It goes to maximum settings on my system and it runs very smooth. On the other hand I don't like how zoomed out the camera is making your character seem very small most of the time. I can only imagine how small it seems on a 20 inch or smaller Mac screen. Also she is like they say in the reviews pretty annoyingly chatty.

There aren't a lot of games like this native on the Mac though.. we don't have any of the Devil May Cry games so far for example.
