I'm just wondering if anyone else is having the same performance issues?
Pretty much anything flash related slows down to a crawl sporadically, but doing the same thing in Win7 32bit (bought wrong version by mistake) has no problems whatsover.

I know Apple has always been critical of flash, but is it really this bad? It gets worst in HD though, but it will play HD vids...

Anyone?

Flash really *is* that bad.

My 2006 MBP takes off whenever it hits flash. Also has trouble with 720p flash content. Which is why flash block is one of my most treasured objects.

And now, time for some Legend of Zelda.

Thanks for the heads up. HTML5 is still a ways away though. By then I'll have upgraded so it won't have made much of a difference.

Still if flash is so bad overall, I'd  be having the same issues in Windows, but I'm not... it's got to be an OSX thing then.

Yes, the Mac version of the Flash Player is still pretty problematic. By the way, I assume you have checked whether you have the latest version of it?

I just checked, and ya I was a version behind. From 11.xxxx.62 to 11.xxxx.64. Doubt it'll make a difference but we'll see.

What's worst is that this is happening even after upgrading my ram from 2GB to 5GB and the HD to a 7200 rpm from the sloow stock 5400.
I realize that the HD doesn't affect things, but I'm tired of crappy drivers and always having to wait for the leftovers when it comes to new versions. This is really starting to look like it just may well be my last Mac.

Never saw those beforehand. I'll try it out.

When I first read the title of the thread, I observed that you did not need to add the initial word; Flash in its being is terrible.

Seriously though, as Jan said. I have always had trouble with Flash ever since I could remember...and not with HTML5 at all.

Thing is Flash on the Windows side is fine. It doesn't stutter  or anything just runs smoothly. Although the drivers Umar pointed me to do help a bit.

Of course it is.. that the platform Adobe gives all the attention to.

Flash suck on the Mac because Adobe just doesn't care about it.
