Serious Sam 3: BFE....

I just saw this at joystiq.. apparently the third game in the Serious Sam series (well it's third if you just count first and second encounter as just one game as apparently they do)... is coming to the Mac! The engine that it runs on "Serious Engine 3" runs very well in WINEskin (that's how I play the HD editions of first and second encounter) although I'm glad they are finally getting around to officially supporting the Mac. They have a faux apple style serious sam 3: BFE commercial out right now.... embedded above.

Some people say this is the game Duke Nukem Forever should have been so it's nice the Mac is getting it too. I wonder who is porting it... previously Ryan Gordon performed the ports of their first games to Linux.

But, Serious Sam: Best Friends (for)Ever?
And now, time for some Legend of Zelda.

So the names of the main games in the series are:
Serious Sam The First Encounter
Serious Sam The Second Encounter (& both of those as HD editions)
Serious Sam 2
Serious Sam 3: Before First Encounter
BTW, the Serious Sam games have long been great games to play as COOP and can have up to 15 players IIRC in COOP.

Thing is the serious engine 3 powered first and second encounter run a hell of a lot better on my system in WINE. So does Alan Wake, FEAR3 and even Crysis in cider runs a hell of a lot better at 1600x900 or 1920x1080 resolutons on medium to high settings!
Serious Sam 3 BFE.. are you serious? This is a lot worse for me than The Witcher ever was.
So much for native always being better.
At 1280x720 the cut scenes don't work but the game does... and at a very high frame rate... almost too high.

Underneath the epic technical failings, the franticness of the game is enjoyable, and the soundtrack is pretty badass. Let's hope they straighten things out.
