Hey all,

Was thinking of picking up a copy of this.  You can find it very cheap at amazon.com. I know it's a slightly older game--will I have any trouble with it running 10.6.8?  I have a 2.8GHz 24" iMac, so I'm thinking I should be fine.

Thanks for any help,

Jim

I assume you mean Ubisofts version of Prince of Persia? There's also another version or two around on the Mac, so you'd really need to specify.

Can't speak for the OS version (but you should be fine, given its older) and your processor is good, but what about your RAM and graphics card? If you are talking about ubisofts version it was done in Cider and I heard complaints about performance from some people as it needs a lot of power to run well.

If you really DO mean "Pirnce of Persia" you should go the Homestar Runner website and ask Coach Z.

I actually do mean the Ubisoft Cider ported Prince of Persia.   Ram is 2 GB, display is ATI,RadeonHD2600, processor is core 2 duo 2.8GHz.  Since I've added Boot Camp/Windows 7 recently, been thinking about maxing out the ram.

Thanks for the responses

You will definitely want more RAM. Doesn't have to be maxed, but at least 4GB.

Can't tell how much VRAM your graphics card has. Please specify.

Hi,

I have looked into maxing the ram. I found this place:

http://www.crucial.c...581A15931D926C3

Has anyone heard of them? I can get a 4 GB kit for about 60 bucks, which is lot less than what my dealer ( a ceritified service and reseller) would charge me.

As far as the video card: VRAM: 256 MB.

Thanks again!

Crucial is a well known RAM provider. I got my ram upgrade from them, so go for it.

Your card is definitely minimum spec for the game, so its hard to say what you can expect from it. I would say you'd need a 512mb card to run it really well (on higher settings anyway) but I'm sure you can run the game on low to medium just fine.
