Aspyr Media has announced that THQ's real-time strategy series Company of Heroes will come to Macs in the form of Company of Heroes: Campaign Edition on March 1st, 2012. The Campaign Edition will include the single player campaign from the original Company of Heroes as well as the additional single player campaigns from the Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor expansions.

"We're incredibly pleased to be bringing such a deep and rich real-time strategy experience to the Mac. Company of Heroes is amongst the highest-rated games of all time, and now Mac users will get to play all the single player campaigns from the series from beginning to end," said Michael Rogers, President of Aspyr Media.

Company of Heroes is a WWII real-time strategy game that allows you to join brave men of Able Company in cinematic intensity as they fight across Europe in the greatest war mankind has ever known. Delivering a visceral WWII gaming experience, Company of Heroes redefines real time strategy gaming by bringing the sacrifice of heroic soldiers, war-ravaged environments, and dynamic battlefields to life.

Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts is the second chapter in the groundbreaking real-time strategy franchise allowing players to take command of the tenacious British 2nd Army in the vicious battle for Caen, France, or lead the German Panzer Elite as they struggle to repel the largest airborne invasion in history.

Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor is the third chapter in the franchise. Players will experience three immersive storylines: Controlling German Tiger Tank Ace Hauptmann Voss's highly decorated Tigergruppen against the British 7th Armored Division; Commanding an American Paratrooper Company in the hours following the initial D-Day landings; and Leading the battle-hardened Wehrmacht Army in a desperate attempt to hold off the advancing Allied army.

Features:
[/list] [*]Environmental Strategy - Completely destructible environments allow you to re-shape the battlefield, using buildings and terrain to your advantage, or denying them to the enemy
[*]Advanced Squad AI - Command intelligent soldiers that interact with their changing environment, take cover, and execute advanced squad tactics to eliminate all enemy opposition
[*]Direct Fire Control – In Tales of Valor® , directly control your units to aim, fire, and maneuver in real-time to capitalize on the changing battle conditions

For those of us that loved playing with toy soldiers as kids, these series of games are a ton of fun. I've keep a copy loaded on my bootcamp partition for years now. I could have done without the foul language though. It would have been fun to introduce my son to the games, but alas no. And to all you freaks that think pixel screen violence is the same as real foul language been there done that argument.

No freak here. Loved the game, despised the language as I often had my 4-8 year olds (at the time) in my computer area and finally gave up as I had no way of knowing when it would happen. What bothered me wasn't the language per se (I can talk a sailor's blue streak as well as anyone, well, except for the world-grizzled tBC, naturally), it was that there was no way to turn it off ... no preference or anything. That was a bad UI decision, in my mind.

Naturally, the editor won't make the leap to OSX either.

Thanks for that clarification. I argued for a filter when the game debuted. The only way around it is to turn off the sound unfortunately.

Listen you popsnizzly firetruckin' son of a frackin' fraguntous nibtobbler, that was a compliment, you popsnizzlin' pinko.

(Hmm, seems like Tuncer's firetruckin' filter is working fine.)

Well, the game is not rated "M" for "Blood and Gore, Strong Language & Violence" without valid reason...
"We do what we must, because we can."
"Gaming on a Mac is like women on the internet." — "Highly common and totally awesome?"
