Frictional Games, developer of the spooky Penumbra and Amensia: The Dark Descent survival horror titles, has unveiled a new website teasing the next title in the Amnesia series. Featuring a blurred image and the words "Something is emerging...," the site also links to a map of China.

The meta information of the site includes this list of keywords [places torch under chin]: “3D game, frictional games, advanced physics, survivial [sic] horror, action adventure, first person, horror, scary, HPL, work in progress, upcoming game, next frictional game, game development.” It’s accompanied by this Crowley-esque incantation: “Welcome to the next frictional game site, a site with information about our game projects in development. We use this site to post content about a project in development, during the period it does not have a final name decided.”

If there's one thing more terrifying than a Reaper invasion that will wipe out the galaxy, it's another Amnesia game.

... .. .. on your knees and pray.

Being terrifying isn't "wrong", it's the whole point.

With the somewhat head scratching size of the sewer, not a gawddang thing. Amnesia is one of the best horror titles I've played in a LOOOONG time. No weapons, no reliance on jump scares and a real sense of danger.  The themes, the atmosphere, the music, the ambience. I played this game thinking "why did Danielle drink the amnesia potion?" when the real question I should have been asking was "why is there Amnesia potion at all?". Normally, a more commercial game would just have the amnesia potion in the end and be completely done with it. Not here. The answer to that one is far more terrifying.

I am so super excited about another Amnesia game. I can only hope that it will be as effective as the first. *fingers crossed*

If by "terrifying" you mean "annoying" then man, these guys have the "terrifying" market sewn up.  I can only skulk around like a cockroach so much, and that's approximately 20 minutes in the first game, and then I became so "terrified" than I sat the game down and never picked it up again.

Might I suggest "Justine", A shorter, 15 minute play through that comes with Amnesia? That one has more at stake since you cannot save at any time AND if you die, you've got to start over again from scratch.

Yes, we've already firmly established that your solution to 100% of everything is to shoot it, and if you can't, you get bored and wander off.  No need to repeat it every single time these games are mentioned....
