Inside Mac Games has posted a new review of Tropico 3: Gold Edition from Feral Interactive. Developed by Haemimont Games and published by Kalypso Media for Windows, Tropico 3: Gold Edition is a re-imagining of the classic construction and management simulation Tropico.

Here's an excerpt:

Once you've gotten the above basics down, the game becomes extremely addicting. It's not just one island, it's dozens of islands, each with their own unique difficulties. You'll likely find yourself finishing a tourism challenge where you have to gather 600 visitors before the end of your term and begin thinking about what challenge to face next. Will it be an island where a mysterious serial murderer kills every solstice, an island where rebels swarm in such numbers a nuclear warhead must deal the final blow, or will it even be an island where you're stuck in a time loop? You have a lot of choices as to what unique modifiers you have to face, and it keeps the game very fresh.

I vote for the island with the nuclear option.

"The main gripe with the audio is that the music is very limited. You'll find yourself getting a bit sick of the music after a while, especially the one where the singing sounds like he's torturing a small pig."

I am somewhat interested in this film. What have people said about it, and the previous two games.
