I just saw Falcon 4 in the AppStore, so for $19 what the heck.
Oh, heck, needs a joystick. So I pull the MS SideWinder Precision out of the cabinet, dust it off and plug it in.
The game doesn't see it.
Anyone have some suggestions? Nothing in the FAQ about it.
Anyone playing Falcon 4?

Considering the dust you had to blew off, are you sure that the joystick still works at all? Have you tried it in another game?
Apart from that, F4 should recognise every USB joystick, as far as I know.

Well I suppose that's a real question… do you know of any demos or other apps I might have that I could use to test it out?
I should point out that it does appear in the list of USB devices in the About this Mac dialogs.

Ok, further info: I downloaded the XPlane demo and it doesn't see the joystick either.
So I suspect that the USB dongle/adaptor is working, but the stick isn't. Bummer

F4 was just so awesome. At the time it really pushed my computer but the *realism* used to blow me away. With the widescreen computers we have these days it would be superb - it would look so good.
The Korea scenario was an easy choice I suppose for the publishers, landscape not too familiar for most of us to be bothered if the realism wasn't real enough and not cities in the map t really be bothered with building details.
I woulda preferred Europe.
With OSX Lion I doubt it would run these days.
If it does then invest in a top quality joystick with lots of buttons.

It also includes a second scenario – in Europe (well, southern Europe).
