Aspyr Media has announced the release of a new patch for Civilization V. Among other things the patch updates the game to version 1.0.1.511 and brings the game back in synch with the Windows version, giving Mac players the chance to once again face off against their Windows PC counterparts.

Aspyr has just announced that the latest patch for Civilization V Mac is up and running which means the Mac version is now back in sync with the PC version. Now what does this mean for you?

Cross-platform multiplayer is now fully functional again!

This patch is currently for the Steam version of Civilization V and not the Mac App Store, but no worries Mac App Civ fanatics. The Mac App patch is currently in the approval process and will be released in the coming weeks so keep an eye out.

The patch will be automatically downloaded and installed the next time you launch Civilization V from Steam.

In addition to cross-platform multiplayer functionality, several fixes are included in this patch to address those pesky bugs and balance issues. Aspyr would like to thank you all once again for your patience!
