That was unexpected for me, but well I wasn´t expecting DNF also.
And it includes all the preorder boni, too.

So it´s nice to see it, including support for the iHD3000 chips.
so if someone buys it, it would be kind to drop me a note on the performace of the intel chip, for my database*. :)

check out the macgamestore!

*Edit: 'cause I won`t be getting it soon: ME3 is next, then Skyrim, then maybe...
hey, don´t worry - it´s only red pixels on your hands...

- MacBook Pro 13" 2011 i5@2.3GHz, intel HD3000, 8GB RAM, OSX 10.9.x / W7 Pro x64
- iPad Air, 16Gb
- MacBook C2D, 1,83GHz, intel GMA950, 2GB RAM, OSX 10.6.x / XP 32bit Home SP3
- iPad 2, 16GB
- iPod Touch 4G, 8GB
-> The (nearly) ultimate intel HD 3000 gaming performance sheet <-

It looks like Aspyr hasn't put in support for console controllers, and no multi-player, wish Feral would have done this port instead.

Rage is good, but not "throw out all your PPC games" good.
Cypher (PowerMac G5 Quad) – 2x2.5 GHz PPC 970MP / 16GB ECC RAM / 1TB WDC Velociraptor, 2TB STX Constellation ES.2 / QuadroFX 4500 512MB
Kestrel (Falcon NW Tiki) – 4.2 GHz Ci7 4770K / 16GB RAM / 512GB Crucial M550 M.2, 2x480GB Intel 730 (RAID0), 3TB STX Barracuda / GeForce GTX TITAN 6GB
Chromium (MacBook Pro Early 2008) – 2.6 GHz C2D T9500 / 4GB RAM / 960GB Crucial M500 / GeForce 8600M GT 512MB
Antimony (PowerBook G4 Titanium) – 1.0 GHz PPC 7455 / 1GB RAM / 480GB OWC Mercury Legacy Pro / Radeon 9000 64MB

Eric5h5:
When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.

So, would this be a... Rage Quit?

I'd say RAGE's ending was a RAGE quit. After a build-up to a crescendo, there is no crescendo and the game suddenly ends, leaving you holding a pile of power weapons and ammo and wondering where the boss fight went.

Which sucks because the rest of the game was great. id denied me my Mecha-Hitler/Satan/Makron fight after going to the trouble of sledgehammering me with the fact that it was coming any second now for the final 20 minutes.

They do go on about how the Authority are "working on something big" but you never get to see what that is. Ending sequence did suck. I'm hoping they make a Rage 2 and fix the problems with the first game, including the story/ending.

Rage is a lot of fun, but its not the best game of all time. I already had Lion so no issue there. I did have to get 10.7.2 before I could play though. I suspect its going to start being more and more of a requirement as we go on, so at some point the Lion-haters are going to have to upgrade or not play the latest releases.

Seems like a perfect setup for a DLC although that would bring accusations that it should have been included in the game proper.

I just noticed that Bioshock 2's system requirements seemed to have been updated to require 10.7.2.

http://www.insidemac...ArticleID=20448

The original launch announcement in December said only 10.6.8 was required. I'm guessing the need here is bug fixes in newer drivers rather than moving to OpenGL 3.2 Core profile. As well, support for the HD2600 Pro and XT seems to have been dropped. I would think that the desktop HD2600XT would be faster than the mobile 9600M GT which is supported so I'm guessing this too is primarily driver related. I guess the time for Snow Leopard and early-gen DX10 GPUs (ATI HD2xxx and nVidia 9xxx, the 8800 may stick around longer due to sheer power) in high-end games may be drawing to a close.

Gah...can you cancel pre-orders on macgamestore.com?  See, this is exactly why I don't pre-order anything.  I make ONE exception and this happens....

10.6.8 will run the game fine, i have that on word from Feral, just not officially supported etc.

This is downloading from the MacApp Store so slowly I think an update including multiplayer might be released before its done– I swear its trickling in right now at no more than 200Kb/s right now! I thought Apple had better servers so I purchased from them... I wish I could cancel it and get it from GameAgent....

So wait, the Mac version has no multiplayer? Not even with other Mac players? I don't see the logic.

Will Bioshock 2 also have no multipl– hahahaha

Not sure why you quoted me (I was talking about Bioshock 2...yes, in the Rage topic...it's not my fault, I swear), but I doubt you would want to get it from GameAgent, what with their hostile DRM.  As long as you're wanting to cancel and get it elsewhere, you could fantasize about downloading from macgamestore.com, which always works fine for me, though granted my download speeds aren't exactly blazing fast (on my end).

I've only ever experienced top download speeds from Apple servers. That being said I got my copy of Rage from MGS and the speeds were great, about 3-4 hours for 16gb's. Its also possible a lot of people are downloading Rage right now so the speed may not be optimal. For example really popular new Steam releases can't all be downloaded at once, it just tells you the server is too busy.

BioShock 2 has the multiplayer elements in it, however you have to play it over Gameranger.

Rage's case was specific, and if you'd read the interview that also came out this morning you will have seen that Aspyr stated Rage for Mac wasn't possible to do on Steam. All the MP runs through Steam..so no Steam...no multiplayer in Rage.

I'm guessing it to be the case, but does the Mac edition already include the new 1.2 patch that was just released for PC?

As of circa 01:40HRS EST 02.03.2012 I'm now getting a steady 1.8MB/s throughput from MacApp Store... yay. Please note sarcasm as I started this download a little after 2100HRS yesterday... and less than 6GB have come through.

I'm glad I pretty much threw out all my PPC games and switched to universal binary and or wrapped games prior to installing Lion so it wasn't such a big deal for me. *raspberries*
