Maxis Developing New 'AAA' Simulation Title

In a new job listing on Gamasutra, EA's Maxis studio revealed a need for a Graphics Enginer to work on an upcoming "triple-A simulation style game." The platforms listed for the game include Mac OS X.

Maxis is seeking an experienced Graphics Engineer to join our team in Emeryville, CA. In this role, you will be working with a highly talented and experienced team on an upcoming triple-A simulation style game.

My guess would actually be a new SimCity. The level of detail they could do now would be pretty amazing, and the last entry of the franchise (done by an external developer) was a radical shift that didn't go over well.

Maybe they could have MMO features, where cities on a landmass both cooperate and compete for resources, commercial business and population. Plus inter-city exchanges for power, maybe water rights issues.

I would love a SimCity 5. I would really love SimIsle 2.  Too bad Will Wright no longer works at Maxis.
