Positech Games has released a new trailer featuring alpha footage from the developer's upcoming Gratuitous Tank Battles. The new game is described as a hybrid of real time strategy and tower defense featuring online elements, customizable units, and a built-in map editor for custom creations.

The video is just showing some battles, not the level editor or the unit editor, or any online stuff (still most of that to do…) so its only a snapshot of the traditional tower-defense side of the game, albeit playing as attacker and defender, and with a tad more detail and explodyness than most TD games I hope :D .
Head over to the link below to check out the new video.

I certainly hope that you have more control over the tanks in this game than you did the space ships in the previous game. Seriously, I grew to believe that GSB stood for 'Gratuitous Space Boredom'. I wanted to control my forces and not just watch. Like I said, I hope we get some control over the tanks.

If you follow the article's link to the game's website you can watch a video of the alpha version. It's actually a kind of tower defense/attack.

The most interesting and original part of Gratuitos Space Battle is that you sit down and watch! It is a pre-strategic game.
