Well, a new GTA has finally been confirmed by Rockstar with a trailer next week. Hopefully the stylized green V doesn't indicate they'll go too over the top, since the styling is reminiscent of Saints Row. With Rockstar's recent push into Mac gaming, I wonder what are the chances that they'll design the game with Mac support in mind from the beginning, either natively or in Cider alongside the eventual PC game for simultaneous launch?

I wouldn't bet on it. Apart from their ancient GTA III trilogy games, they haven't really shown overwhelming support for the Mac. No GTA IV, no L.A. Noire (and certainly no Red Dead Redemption – but that's no surprise).

Agreed here. It would be really sweet to get GTA IV on the mac, as well as L.A. Noire. But they only seem vaguely concerned with PC gaming at this point, it seems highly unlikely they are suddenly going to put out effort towards the Mac. On the RDR note they recently said they wouldn't ever bring it to PC, more or less. Too bad.

That's a shame about RDR. Frankly, I found it to be their best game in a long time. GTA just wasn't as fun to me once it turned '3D'. I guess that's why I really enjoyed Chinatown Wars, even though it carried a too serious tone at times. All in all it was a great throwback to the original two. I find the Saints Row series to be much more up my alley, even if I'm not all into the whole gangster style those games have going for them. At least they poke fun at themselves. Rockstar really does have to do something phenomenal with GTA 5 to get me to care.

So, yeah, I'm not the biggest Rockstar fan. I really found RDR to be a hell of a lot more fun than any recent non-portable GTA offering. I guess it also helps that I'm a bit of sucker when it comes to Westerns, especially since it's a mightily underrepresented genre. I really hope they do eventually revisit it. I much rather have RDR 2 than GTA 5.

GTAV sounds like an MMO to me.

And now, time for some Legend of Zelda.

If you haven't seen it already, the trailer is there. Looks impressive, but somehow I can't shake the feeling that it implies that GTA 4's "popular" extra mini games that have nothing to do with autos, theft or grands like bowling and darts have been replaced or complemented with golfing, mountain hiking, grape picking and long romantic walks on the beach at sunset.

Grand Theft Auto doesn't necessarily have anything to do with err... the words individually like you mentioned Janichsan. Grand Theft Auto has always connoted stealing cars more than those things. So as long as you can jump into cars especially carjacking and driving off in them then it's Grand Theft Auto. :P

Personally, I share the misgivings and doubt of GTAV with Jan. I hope this game doesn't turn out to be like most I become excited about…not nearly as good as they could be.

impressive how any ironic connotations can be lost through the internet. ;)
