Well, if that's the case then great.  But I'll believe it when I see it.

It's simple math. it's just having a 16x16 grid instead of a 4x4 one. The 16x16 one can very easily become a 4x4 if need be.

Whatever crazy resolution it gets. Just cut it in "half". Ex: if its 3000x2000, just cut that to 1500x1000.

If anything you might be a bit thrown back from seeing the OS at that resolution, but it's not going to make the games look any different at the same resolution

Yeah, that just reminds me of when I first saw a 27" screen. Even on that I was thrown aback by, somewhat. Sure, if obviouly is not even near the res of what is being talked about, but small things can make large differences.

I just want to see new Mac Pro's along wide new graphics card upgrades. I'm going all the way to 16GB RAM on my 2009 Mac Pro but my 4870 needs upgrading :)

On Macrumours there's a picture apparently showing the Mac Book Pro with an NVIDIA GT650M but we'll see. Does currently seem to be a credible rumour given that NVIDIA have been releasing Mac drivers independently for some of their cards (http://www.macbreake...-os-x-lion.html)

Mac9to5.com has reported the supposed specs of an upcomming WWDC Pro update.

No upgrade to standard graphics .... ? That would be underwhelming to say the least. I'd even rather see NVIDIA come back than no upgrade to the ATI options available. Fingers crossed for something more exciting! :)

Mac pro has been updated. Smallest update in history though.

Well with that as an 'update' to the Mac Pro at least my 2009 machine is keeping it's value ;) But really .. very shocking at how underwhelming that was. Not even a graphics card update after 685 days ....

Urgh. It's like a joke, only nobody's laughing. No Sandy Bridge Xeons, no Thunderbolt, no USB 3, no new graphics cards.

This is the update that should have happened in 2011 to fill the gap until the new Xeons were ready, not the one that should be happening now.

Yeah, this is a rather bad joke, just like the ones Apple has told before.

At least that's something existing Mac Pro users can fix with an expansion card but still.. it's good they removed the New flag from the Apple Store.

And the wait for upgrades to iMac and Mac Pro continues.  No announcements at the event on 9/12/2012.  Just new iPhone and iPod (nano and Touch) (and earphones of course) for hardware.

The rumour mill is at least making noises about iMacs (however inaccurate). Delayed due to low panel yields or somesuch. By contrast, there's been absolutely nothing on the Mac Pro.

Any new Macs this year will come out next month. Apple almost never does November releases--they like solidifying their lineup for the holiday season.

A Mac Pro will not be one of them--Tim Cook said they are working on something for later next year. If I had to guess, non-retina iMacs and a retina 13" MBP.

Personally, I'm done with Apple desktops. Easily-upgradable hackintosh + 13" MBP (eventually will be an Air) is the best of both worlds, IMO.

Will they be wafer thin?

On a serious note, I hope you're right.  My current 2006 iMac has been a little .... troublesome lately.
