Anuman Interactive has updated its Facebook page with a new teaser image revealing plans for a new game based on the XIII comic series. XIII: Lost Identity, much like the last game to hold the title, will apparently revolve around the exploits of an amnesiac seeking to reclaim the fragments of his forgotten life.

In November, go back to the XIII conspiracy origins on PC, Mac, iPhone and iPad

I guess it won't be a cell shaded Unreal engine based shooter.

First of all, Anuman's own games are either casual puzzle games or point'n'click adventures (they bought Microids, the developers of Syberia and Still Life). Secondly, because a representative confirmed that the game will be completely different.

As long as they get rid of the bloody stealth levels, I'm buying. My only problem with the previous game was the tedium of repeating everything from a distant save point every time some idiot guard saw you.

What does that have to do with it? The Unreal engine is available on all those platforms. I'm not saying it will be on that engine, I'm just saying its possible.

Also they said its not a sequel to the first game. Its still based on the comic books, as such not its not a totally different game necessarily, just not in line with the first. We'll find out soon enough either way.

Sure. An Unreal engine based point'n'click adventure is of course possible. ;) Anuman simply doesn't do shooters. It's not their field of expertise. That would be like expecting Telltale Games to make a real-time strategy game based on their Jurassic Park license.
