FIFA Soccer 12 has been released on the Mac a couple of weeks back. I hear that it has been a long time coming for Soccer fans on the Mac Platform.

I'm not really a sports game fan but I have been interested in getting into it.

Any thoughts? Is this a good buy?

Do you think this is the start for even more EA Sport games coming to the Mac?

The reviews I've seen so far have been good, and it has sold extremely well for EA (more than 3.2 million units sold in the first week). Football (soccer) isn't the most popular choice in the USA, but it's extremely popular worldwide. Whether or not we see more on the Mac side of things will depend on sales I suppose. TransGaming seems to have a good working relationship with EA so there's definitely reason to believe we'll see more titles coming our way in the future.

It will be interesting to see if next years game will also come.

Any word on where it is available? Steam? Mac App Store? Mac Game Store?

I know of MGS and GameTreeOnline. MAS might happen in the future, Steam is definitely out considering EA's recent fallout with Valve.

Let us know if / when it does reach the other stores if you can!

How does FIFA 12 stack up against the competition on the mac platform? Is there any competition?

Is it possible to change game resolution in the Mac version of Fifa 2012?

I had terrible experience with other Cider ports... some times I think that Cyder-Mac/Linux ports should be available for free for those who bought the PC version of the game.

TIA

Yes, resolution can be changed in FIFA12 but that has to be done via the launcher.

Open the FIFA12 app and then click on the 'Game Settings' button in the launcher. You will be presented with an options dialog box for graphics/audio.  Under the 'Display Configuration' tab, you can select the resolution to play in. :)

Enjoy !

Exactly! My Logitech Rumble works fine too. FIFA 12 is awesome, just as great as for the consoles.

Awesome. I may have to put on my Arsenal shirt and purchase and play the thing.

pssh the gunnars. Cheer for Newcastle United my friend! There is nothing more rewarding (and heartbreaking) then cheering for mediocre teams.

Arsenal is mediocre this season (and has been for a few seasons now, sadly). I'm just hoping that City can beat United in the end. Anyone but United is my feeling.
