I know this is a gaming site, but lack of this news on the front page seems odd...

It looks like it was posted after the last time I checked. Thanks Tuncer!

Everything I've created in a twenty-plus career in design has been accomplished using tools that Steve Jobs had a hand in making. I know my life (work, home, colleagues and experiences in my field in studios and agencies around the world) would have been vastly different, and far less rich, if it hadn't been for Steve Jobs.

Well-played sir, you have dented the universe.

I'm not sure if I ever would have even been interested in computers if it wasn't for the Mac Plus. That brought me in and the constant innovation over the following years kept me in. As a severely disabled person Apple products have given me a voice and window to the world that helped to keep me going. They also continue to entertain the child in me and keep that child from going permanently dormant.

RIP Steve Jobs. You were one of a kind and will be missed. Your impact on this world and the people in it will be felt for a long time to come. Thanks for making life just a little more interesting.

I bought my first computer in 1984, the 128K Mac.  Ever since, I have only owned Macs, even during the dark days when Scully and Amelio ran the show.  Of course, that means I did not buy a computer every 2 years or so, due to the expense and my relative lack of disposable income, but since they were Macs, I didn't need to.  They worked, and the older models kept working well even after I finally invested in an upgrade.  I can count on one hand (maybe two hands) the number of times I had to restart any of those Macs due to a crash.  The PCs provided for me at work?  I'm lucky to go a month between system crashes.  Thanks, Steve, for making products that are not just useful, enjoyable and easy to use, but for making products that just work - pretty much all the time and pretty much hassle-free.  (YMMV, of course.)  You'll be missed, and I realized today I'm mourning not just the loss of Steve Jobs, a man I'd never met, but the loss of all the insanely great things he might have given us had he lived another 20 plus years.

Bon voyage, Steve.

Here's a Steve Jobs tribute in The Onion's unique, to-the-point style. As caustically funny as their aim is to be, I'm not sure they didn't just nail the truth as plainly as possible.

Oh geez. Painful, but feels like just about spot on. Combined with that "Historians Politely Remind Nation To Check What's Happened In Past Before Making Any Big Decisions" article, the Onion's been on a roll the past week.

When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.

EA left a very a large and lovely flower arrangement at the impromptu memorial at Infinite Loop 1.
The commute from Mill Valley to Cupertino is a real bitch.

I've been looking around since Friday but haven't seen the special "Jobs" Time magazine issue yet,
all the stores around here still have the Oct 3 issue on the stands...is it an electronic version only or did
they just release it on the East coast?

I'm calling it as being too late for Steve to sit up in his casket and say, "Wait a minute, there's one more thing!"
