Frozen Synapse is the flavor of the humble bundle this time around. Calling this a bundle though is a bit odd. Sure if you pay above the average donation you'll get the Frozenbyte bundle as well, but Frozen Synapse itself does not a bundle make. That said, they're already going on $500k within the first two (three?) days.

I actually may be going the El Cheapo route for once. ;)

Does a single game actually qualify as a "bundle" now?

Kind of surprised me as well. I suppose they qualify it by the fact that if you pay the average price ($4.20 or something) then you get the last bundle they did as well. Which doesn't really make sense, since presumably anyone who wanted to buy the last bundle already did, although I'm sure some people missed it. Or you could just give out the extra copies to friends.

Still odd, I would have preferred 2-3 games, but there's only so many indies I guess :P

Well, at least Frozen Synapse has a lot of replay value unlike most of the other games that have been available so far. That said, I still have a good share of games from previous bundles that beg to be played. My backlog is killing me. ;)

Trauma is now part of the bundle, so two games can be called a bundle :D

I didn't get the last bundle so this is all new to me (except for Trine which I already have). Granted it's a bunch of extra games I don't really need at the moment with my backlog. But it's for a good cause so what the heck. Posted Image

How good are the games other than Trine? (I also own it already.) What about the ones in the pay-above-the-average bonus?

The main game Frozen Synapse itself is really good. Its normally $25 and I think its worth that much, having already sunk about 10 hours into it. Seeing as you can pick it up for a few pennies or dollars (or more) that's a great deal. Can't really comment on the other games like Shadowground, but I've played similar games and they are pretty fun.

Shadow Grounds are a great top down Aliens Style Shooter. Great atmosphere and FX and straight forward action.
For that asking price definitely a GO!

Frozen Synapse is like tacticle Cyberpunk Chess. Turn Based. Both Opponents lay out their moves at the same time, an then see how they unfold against each other. The AI is alos quite capable. But online matches are more fun of course, though they can take very long, since it´s turn based playtime and asynchronous.

There is a campaign and you can sink hours into online duels. And the optics are TRON-doped!

I am not convinced of TRAUMA, though.

Thanks. There's really no question of whether to buy (that's a given when you can pay as little as a penny), I'm just trying to decide how much to pay and how to split it.

yes, It was meant in that way, somehow

maybe it´s better to say these games are worth your TIME. With prices that cheap, you have to spent your high times more carefully.
These days it really annoys me more to waste 2 hrs of my time with a boring game, than the $5 spent for it.
:)

Who'd have thought it? Now it resembles an actual bundle. They just added SpaceChem.

I'm really unimpressed by SpaceChem basically telling me, "Hey, looks like we forgot to include all the bits the game needs to run. Be a pal and finish our job for us."
