Riddick on the other hand seems unstable with antialiasing or ambient occlusion enabled even with the latest Lion patch for it installed.

I'm wondering what the problem could be?? The only real difference that I can imagine is that my Mac Mini has an AMD Radeon HD 6630M (256MB VRAM) in contrast to your Radeon 5870. I don't have any extensions/hacks running on my system....it is a "plain vanilla" platform.
As a mathematician, I hate mysteries.

When I try to boot up Jade Empire: Special Edition, the icon bounces a couple times and then I get the following dialog box:
Exception raised
Unhandled privileged instruction at address 0x9561e241
Do you wish to debug it?

I'm not sure how - that looks like a windows type error happening in Cider. The only time I saw something like that was with GTA3 on a particular level when I tried getting a boat onto some land.
I take it you have already tried a fresh download & install in case it is corrupt?

I'm hoping that it is something which is easily corrected in the next OS X update. Perhaps, it's an issue with graphics drivers?!

Alice, Jedi Academy and JK 2 both work now for me
I tried the same with Call of Duty (1) but it still crashed.
Given how simple the fix is maybe Aspyr will make the effort to update these properly for Lion?
I just downloaded Jedi Academy digitally from gameagent.com without realizing it's not compatible with Lion. I've tried to follow these steps to fix it, but I can't get it to work. Can anyone clarify these steps for me? Here's what I've done so far:
1. Created a "Jedi Academy" folder at /~/Library/Application Support and put a new file in there called "autoexec.cfg"
2. Set the contents of autoexec.cfg to:
seta r_colorbits "32"
set r_allowExtensions 0
The program still crashes on startup. Did I miss a step or two here?
