AC2 was great, and I'm almost done…despite all this nuisance, I've about to finish the game anyway. So that tells you how good it is. To be honest I'm just blown away by the free-running and the feel of the different neighborhoods and cities. I try to avoid killing anyone if the plot doesn't demand it. :-)

The  expansive freedom of the AC games has always been a large appeal to me,  and how fun it is to just run around and climb stuff. I like the take  take on historical fiction as well.
Hmmm, it appears to be settled then: I shall buy it. :D

Thought, meaning you played it and that was your experience/opinion of the game? Or is that just your impression of what the game is?
Merely my uninformed impressions. ;)

Thanks for your input guys,
Liberator.

…and it is done, I have bought it. Awwwww, yeahhhhhhhh!!!!!!

I experienced problems with my Logitech mouse when playing Brotherhood. Ubisoft told me it was a known bug. I had to unplug it just before starting the game and only plug it in after i got in game. (controlling Ezio.) Or it would often disable my entire keyboard. Even then there was a few times it didn't work. (And having that happen after waiting 10 minutes for a multiplayer match nearly made me scream.) Other than that the game was glitch free for me. No crashes or anything.

You would think Ubisoft could put in the extra 5% effort and fix the bugs with mice & keyboards & DRM. I'm sure they would benefit from better reviews and sales.

Limbo is currently $2.49 for the PC (75% off). It's a Steamplay title so you'll get the Mac version when it arrives in December.

It is puzzling. I saw a post that AC2 Brotherhood had the same keyboard glitches.. As if the bugs weren't bad enough, Ubisoft tech support doesn't even know enough to suggest unplugging 3rd party peripherals. They don't suggest anything, really, just tell you that it's a "known issue".

It's a shame the AC Mac ports weren't published by Feral, Aspyr, or MacSoft.

Portal & Portal 2 are 75% off. That's $9 for both, at least for a few more hours.

Anything else really good and dirt cheap? I see discounts on three of the games that Gamasutra picked as 2011 Top 10 Indie Games (Jamestown, SpaceChem, Binding of Isaac) but also note that Jamestown is in the current Humble Bundle.

If you don't have Hearts of Iron III and you like thoughtful strategy games, you MUST buy that title.

HoI3 looks very interesting but also quite overwhelming. These days I've tended more towards games with a quicker feedback loop, where you don't have to play for hours before I realize that you've been losing ground the whole time. But I'll read some reviews, see if I can get a feel.

As mentioned in another thread, Psychonauts is $2.50 today on Steam. MacGameStore has it for just a couple bucks more on until Dec 24.

And thanks for the other tips.

Heads up for RPG fans: Torchlight, Mass Effect 1 & 2 and Avadon are all dirt cheap at the moment ($5 and less).

While we're at it: anyone interested in a coupon for 25% off Valve games? I got one in the current gift pile, but have all the Valve games I want. Drop me a message if anyone wants it.

How did anyone else find R.U.S.E.?

I don't know about anyone else, but I have finished the Campaign, (only  now getting round to playing it) and I have found the AI left a lot to  be desired. The game looks really nice, and everything else is pretty  good too.

The only other thing was, as a very amateur WWII historian, I found the  actual campaign to be hilarious in operational portrayal. Yes, I know, I  know. It is a highly fictionalised game, and if I want reality, I  should play HoI III. …and I think I will do that.

Liberator.

P.S. At the time of writing, I could not comment on the sound, as the software in the iMac was firetrucked.

Portal 2 is 66% cheaper at the moment. If you don't have that game yet, that's probably a great opportunity. Plus, the Perpetual Testing Initiative DLC is out, so you'll get endless community created new levels. Or you make them yourself.

SW:KOTOR on sale at Steam for $2.49 (for a limited time).  Hope it works on my aging iMac, but if it doesn't, I've spent slightly more on it than I would spend on a large cup of (good) coffee.

I paid bloody 20 bucks for it a month ago :( Works quite well on my X1600 macbook pro however, enjoying playing through it again
