Hi,

I got the 5.x Version from the MacUpdatePromo sale.
Paralles and Renamer was already worth it.

So is it worth to invest $20 to Techtool 6?
besides Data Recovery, Volume Repairing and LAN Monitor I donīt see anything useful. eDrive MAYBE.

But just Data Recovery alone could be worth $20 if it works nicely.

what do you think?

and for anybody here is the Discount Code: MU0063011

I never had TechTool 5, I went from 4 to 6.  I was impressed by the speed and ease of use over 4, plus now the eDrive is better implemented.  A $20 upgrade seems like a great bargain.  I've never used the Data Recovery features, I use backup instead - nightly and weekly plus a bi monthly DVD dump.  In the 10 years I've done backups I've never used any of the backups to restore data, so I forgo the overhead data recovery might entail.

mmmh, scheduled backups...

I just recently and for the first since years that wasnīt my fault, had a corrupted partition on an external drive.
I was lucky to get all my data back but, so now my sensitivity towards Data Loss is increased of cause.

thanks for the heads up!

I might add that I actually use the eDrive now, where as before it was sort of weird and clunky so I used a CD.  eDrive is fast.
