It definitely wasnt meant to be played on an iPad, bút cool nontheless. Would love Oni or Myth more on the iPad.

Almost.  The Marathon had already arrived at Tau Ceti and the process of colonization was about 7 years old...  Oh God.  No... I'm a NERD!!

They're porting the original Marathon, not Durandal?

Holy crap.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Marathon 2 as well, but I will get this the microsecond I get an iPad 2 later this year or early next year. The controls will probably be wonky, but it can't be any worse than the original Marathon's mouse controls when it shipped (you old time Mac gamers know of what I speak).

When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.

My wife informs me that she is downloading Marathon for the iPad from 35 thousand feet.  The only thing that could make that any cooler is if she was on a C-131 over the Yucatan ready to leap with a malfunctioning parachute down onto a sleeping god.

[edit] No she didn't, she just told me she was.  But of course, it isn't there yet.
[edit edit] But it would have been cool if she did download it from 35,000 ft.

I want a version for my 4th generation iPod Nano, and another one for my Huang Dynasty abacus, and one for my Captain Tomorrow decoder ring.  Also I'd like a pencil and paper version with optagoginal di and a cagey dungeon master.  A finger puppet version would be cool too.

Yup. You can put a Phfor puppet on every finger and some Bobs on the thumbs. You can even use your toes for more players.

Now you're just being silly. There's no SDK for the abacus. In any case, releasing the version for the iPhone should be trivial since he already has the game written.
