Installing the 1.01 patch fixed all of my initial problems with Splinter Cell: Conviction, so I got cocky and bought the Insurgency DLC. The installation has failed every time. I just get an error saying "Installation Failed", telling me to contact the manufacturer. Ubisoft's tech support is useless, simply repeating what I have already stated, or ignoring my question entirely. I'd really like to play the extra levels, but after a month, I'm hoping I can get my money back since they are not responding to my help ticket.

Has anyone successfully installed the Insurgency DLC?

Thanks in advance.

I had no issues with the vanilla install of the game, other than Multiplayer doesn't work for me at all. Does it work for you?

I have patched to 1.01, and also recently got the DLC pack. Same exactly issue, the installer just fails no matter how many times I try it.

I made a ticket with ubisoft, but they said they would need at least 10 days to get back to me, and I only posted it like 7 days ago so haven't heard anything yet. That being said their Mac support is stupidly slow and not particularly savvy. I guess that's what happens when they are new to putting things on the Mac themselves. Hope it improves.

No, the co-op mode has NEVER worked. Servers ALWAYS unavailable.

However, I solved my problem with the DLC Pack failing to install, no thanks to Ubisoft.
Once I realized the files had been installed (by inspecting the app's package contents), I decided to try to enter the activation code by clicking the "Redeem Code" button in the game menu (Extras --> Exclusive Content). Sure enough, the new maps were available! I don't know why no one at Ubisoft ever thought to tell me that, because I could have been playing the extra content 3 weeks ago!

I wrote them back one final time and offered to handle all their tech support from now on, since clearly they were inept.

I hope this works for everyone else!

Hmm, I tried what you said, entering my code in Redeem Code area. It only seemed to unlock one extra map though, San Francisco CA. Maybe mine didn't install them all right? Did it unlock all 4 new maps for you?

Yes, it unlocked all 4. I didn't mention this earlier because I wasn't sure it mattered, but I took one additional step after the installation failed before entering the code. I did a right-click "Show Package Contents" on the DLC package, then inside Content --> Packages there's another package called dlccontent.pkg, and I manually installed that. I don't remember what happened when I did that, but it was either nothing, or an error, but it might have been enough to put the files where they belong. I also played around with Pacifist to look through and install every hidden package inside the DLC package, so I'm not sure how much of that actually helped, but something did.

Try poking around inside the DLC package and manually install everything you find. I'm sure you can get the rest of the maps.

Oh! I'm assuming you already tried using the down-arrow key to scroll down past San Francisco to the other maps below?  ;-)

Haha yes, I did try that. It could be the extra step you took with the package contents. I'll give that a go.

This is Ubisoft's response to the co-op multiplayer servers not working:

"Please follow these instructions to troubleshoot what exactly is causing your connection issue:

- Please make sure that you have all of the available patches for the game installed.  You can download patches for all Ubisoft games from our website at http://support.ubi.com in the game patches section.

- Please make sure that the default firewall is disabled. If you have any other type of firewall software installed, please make sure that it is configured to allow access for the game that you are playing, or disabled.  Mcafee Personal Firewall and Norton Firewall are the exceptions, if you have either of these software packages installed, then will need to be completely uninstalled before running the game.

- If you have a router in your home network, please make sure that you have the latest firmware installed for that device.  Your router manufacturer should be able to help you complete this update.

- In addition, the following ports will need to be open in your router or any firewall software you may be running:

-9103, 9100, 10196 (UDP outbound/inbound)
-80, 3081, 3105   (TCP outbound)
- 22350 - 22380 (TCP inbound)

Also, please note that placing the computer into the "DMZ" via your router's configuration will not solve this problem; you MUST manually configure these port settings.

If you are unsure of how ports work then best course of action would be to contact your system administrator or ISP for more information."

I did ALL of that, updated the firmware of my router, opened all the ports, and still get the same error. They said that's the only advice they have. Quite a track record they have for NOT solving any problems...

It's a Festivus Miracle! My co-op matchmaker actually found a few matches the other night! Granted, a couple quit before the game even started and the game that lasted the longest eventually froze before we finished, but it was cool while it lasted!

Sorry if this question has already been asked but has anyone tried to run this game on a MacBook. It's a 2.26 Intel Core Duo with 2 gig of memory and an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics card.
Thanks in advance

That won't run well for you. My friend tried to run it on his 2.4 core duo with 4 gigs of RAM and a 9600M card. With everything set to the lowest possible settings, the game still lagged. Its likely you will fare worse.

There's something to be said about Ubisofts game's on laptops, the performance is abysmal.
