I have a G5 iMac and for some reason I cannot install Stubbs The Zombie. I meet all the system requirements, but when I try to copy the files over, I get an error that says "The alias "Stubbs The Zombie" cannot be copied to the destination, perhaps because the destination does not support this type of alias". Is there anything I can do to fix this so I can play it?

I updated Stubbs but when I launch it, it bounces in the dock a few times and then quits. I'm so confused!

I don't have the game in question, but are you copying over all files, or just a shortcut?
"They're everywhere!"

And now, time for some Legend of Zelda.

In what filesystem is your hard drive formatted?

Try disabling journaling (using Disk Utility) and then seeing if Stubbs launches.

So, not case-sensitive? Okay, then that shouldn't be the problem (Journaled was already standard back in OS 9 days and shouldn't cause any trouble). Do you have any additional, external hard drive? Does the same happen there?

I disabled journaling and it still just bounced a few times in the dock and would not start. I even tried a whole system restart.

I do have an external HD and it does the same thing.

Hm, sounds as if something's wrong with Stubbs itself. Did you try and contact Aspyr's support?

Not yet...I was hoping this would be a simple fix...I will give Aspyr support a shot.

When Stubbs fails to launch, are there any error messages showing up in the logs (check via the Console app)?

What OS version are you running? And are you running any Haxies (like FruitMenu) or utilities that modify the OS, like DefaultFolder?

I installed Stubbs the Zombie on my G5 desktop running 10.5.8 just this minute without any problems other than a long ass copy.  The game launched for me and was playable.

Are your system specs the same as mine?

My G5 specs are in my profile.  It's not an iMac but we are both G5's.  When was the last time you repaired your disk permissions?

A while ago...would that possibly fix the issue?

Repaired Disk Permissions and it still just bounces a few times in the dock and quits.

Delete the Stubbs folder.  Now that your permissions are fixed, recopy Stubbs from your CD to make sure everything made it over.  Bad permissions may have blocked part of the original copy.
