These are absolutely great, teflon! :D

@the Battle Cat: my only problem with your suggestion is that this name seems too short! An ideal company name would need at least 10 words more IMO :P.

Good luck.  Remember to advertise or nobody will know it's in the app store.  I know getting it there is a big deal, but it needs exposure too.

Thanks a lot, the Battle Cat! I don't really have a lot of advertising budget so what I'm trying to do is engage directly with people via forums, twitter, facebook and all that. I hope that it will work and give some much needed exposure to the game.

Some good news: The Fish Dies in the End has been featured on the App Store today under the Action and Arcade categories (New & Noteworthy). Here's hoping that this will help sales :) .

What are the controls like?  Is this a "tilt" game?  Tilt to steer the fish?

You just touch the screen to make the fish go up and release to make the fish go down. I had some requests for optional accelerometer controls so there's a chance that it will happen eventually! I suggest that you watch the trailer where you can see the controls and gameplay very well:

Accelerometer games are for kids and teenagers. I also suck at them, which is why I don't play most racing games on iPad..

I'm exactly the same as you guys. I've never been a fan of accelerometer games which is why I decided to make this game with touch controls!

I've been interviewed by Joystiq regarding The Fish Dies in the End. Really happy with it! Please take a look. In other news, I'm already at work on the first update for the game that should feature many suggestions I received from players since the release of the game. If you have anything you'd like to see changed or added to the game, let me know.

Hey guys, I'm proud to announce the release of The Fish Dies in the End 1.1 - The Fish Strikes Back! For those who don't know the game, it's an undersea, pick up and play game featuring a cute little fish trying to survive as long as possible against all odds. The game has Retina support and is compatible with Game Center (Leaderboards and Achievements).

The new update has been made with the players' suggestions in mind and adds many improvements to the game, including better placement of enemies and obstacles, more dynamic backgrounds, tutorial screens, better performance, and more. Most notably, there are three new power-ups that should provide more variety and entertainment to the players (and some much-needed help, of course!).

I updated the first post with new screenshots and as always, I'd love to receive some feedback from you. So if you try the game, please let me know what you think! Let's see if you can come up with more awesome suggestions :).

Best,
Gutenberg

I'm holding out for The Fish Dies in the End - The Return of the Fish so I can play the trilogy back to back.  Don't bother making the prequels: The Fish Menace, Attack of the Fishes, and Revenge of the Fish.  Your audience and critics alike will pan them, Jar Jar Fish will be thrown in your face for years, and the fish playing Anakin Surfacewalker will be touted as the worst actor EVER.

The Fish Strikes Back will be the best-reviewed version though, so I think you should try it ;) . Don't worry, The Return of the Fish will be the last game and I won't EVER talk about it again.
