Ankama has announced that an open beta version of its upcoming tactical MMO Wakfu will be available on April 27. Taking place in the same world of the flash based Dofus, although far in the future from the events of the original game, Wakfu will feature a cartoon based visual style and an environment which responds to player actions.

1,000 years after the Dofus Era, new heroes emerge and bring hope to the ruined world.
Whether you're a tradesman, artisan, fighter, militiaman, magician, politician or just a simple citizen: WAKFU needs you!

WAKFU is an MMORPG...

Also known as Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game, hiding under this barbaric acronym, you'll find the three main characteristics of the WAKFU game:

* A massively multiplayer game: Thanks to its "Orgonax" server architecture, each world can welcome several thousand players at the same time.

* An online game: WAKFU cannot be played offline. You have to be connected to the internet to play.

* A role-playing game: Play as one of 14 original classes, each of which has their own specific set of characteristics, in this World of Twelve, devastated by an ogre's chaos.
