Feral Interactive's BioShock is now available as a digital download purchase exclusively through Macgamestore.com for $39.95. The critically acclaimed Sci-Fi shooter drops players into the undersea world of Rapture where they must avoid being killed by the bizarre denizens of the city while seeking a way to escape.

Welcome to Rapture. A city where opportunity awaits those brave enough to grasp it. A city where the artist need not fear the censor. Where the scientist is not bound by petty morality. Where the great are not held back by the weak

BioShock - one of the greatest games of all time - is now on the Mac.

Set in an alternate 1960, BioShock places you in the middle of an underwater utopia gone badly wrong. With a provocative and intelligent storyline, this is a game that is alternately beautiful, thrilling, funny and frightening and always very involving. An experience that makes you think while you play.

The digital download weighs in at 6.8 GB and is available for purchase immediately through Macgamestore.com.

I'm wondering if the retail version will now be patched to use the new DRM, enabling the game to be played without the disc.

Me too. Since I bought BioShock already, and haven’t even played it yet! Wish I’d waited for the download... and I HATE key discs with a passion :( (Especially for laptop gaming.)

P.S. I would weep tears of joy if Inside Mac Games wouldn’t log me out every few days, requiring me to sign back in every time I have comment

I think eddduck mentioned a possible update to Bioshock that would allow an online registration akin to Bioshock's that allows you to play without the discs... a wonderful thing, indeed!

You may want to clean all your IMG cookies out to make sure you dont have any very old forum-version cookies conflicting with your session states. Either that, or you keep trying to view the site off many different machines on different isps, which tend to invalidate your login state due to increased security? Those are the two ways I know logouts occur.

And a patch for windows that disables windows live for single player. Oh well at least the late packs of DLC are coming to PC after all.

I know it took a while but we added about 30 new gamepads to the supported list and also enabled "Legacy mode" which allows DVD people to upgrade to a serial code no DVD version of the game. You will need your original retail DVD to do this.

Enjoy!
