Hello all. My problem, well New problem while running Halo on my dual 2.ghz tower with nvidia Geforce 6600le graphic card running 10.5.8. The game after I complete a level it quits to my desktop. Even if I log back in and select continue etc. it still quits. I never had this problem before. Maybe I have not played it since I installed 10.5 a long while back. I have heard of the universal patch I can buy(which is not fare I own the game). Regardless, can this be fixed without purchasing the universal patch so I don't have to pay a total of 60 dollars for a nine year old game? Thanks all.

$5's not that much if you like the game, and it brings you current with the PC version if you ever want to be able to play the multi... just get that. And in this case, $5 is fair because MacSoft had to practically rewrite the game to make it a UB, it wasn't just some simple patching. The $5 allows them to recoup some of the rather sizable cost that went into making a Halo UB.

When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.

It's a shame you can't buy anymore unless you get lucky on eBay..

It's still $10 for a disc and $5 for a digital download.

Thanks all, I purchased the download yesterday. I'll have to tinker around with the graphic settings now because although I can now continue along through the game, I'm not getting the good performance I had prior to the install.

Make sure to also install the latest patch. The UB had some rather glaring problems with certain graphic effects, which was addressed in subsequent patches.

You're on PowerPC, G5 I assume... the UB purchase might have been a waste. I've read it improves Intel performance and hurts PPC.

Didn't hurt the performance when I was on my G4.
