Got it from the horse's mouth: Mirror's Edge is coming to the Mac! This was, believe it or not, mentioned in the legal brief of Edge Games v EA.

Finally, a Mac version of the original “Mirror’s Edge” video game is currently under development and is slated for release later this year (Hershberger Decl. ¶ 13).

Can't get any more confirmation than that.  :D

That's pretty cool, Mirror's Edge was one of my favourite games from 2008. Original but flawed, and with a really great art direction and world...

So much potential, I just wish they'd do a sequel already!

Mirror's Edge used the UE3... I thought we still didn't have a UE3 port to the Mac.  Did I miss something?

Probably. It has been stated by some Epic Beard guy that the engine is running on Macs - that there just weren't any games at this point. Seems that those are now coming. (Well, provided ME will be a native port and not Cider.)

I have been told Ryan Gordon does his UE work for a specific company and that has no bearing on what another company might do. So even if he never delivers it wouldn't stop a company like say... Feral from porting the game using their own in house talent and technology. This game does run pretty well in cider though as that's how I'm currently running it using the latest LEGO Universe wrapper. But you never know what might happen. Like I said elsewhere I was shocked to find no telltale traces of cider in Gametree Online's Assassin's Creed II port.

I've just looked at a couple of trailers. It looks interesting - very striking imagery!

This has to be the most bizarre leak/announcement though .. ;)

The point of Cider Technology is that it is a wrapper that provides a way of translating the information from a Windows game to a Mac platform so that you don't have to do a native port. My understanding is that you don't need an engine that is ported to the Mac already.

I don't believe that the UE3 engine has been ported to the Mac yet...I'd love to find out otherwise, tho.

Uhh, I can't help but think that anyone who wanted to play it finished it 2 years ago already. It just seems like one of those Mac projects that comes out way too late and at way too high of a price (it's easy to find for £10 now) so EA can then say "See! There isn't a market for Mac games!". Well how about releasing your ports in a timely fashion and bothering to release the expansions too? :/

I tried the demo on PS3, downloaded from PSN... I really wanted to like this game but kept losing balance walking over beams and it did nothing but piss me off.
