My concern for this regards attacking cities on a peninsula where it may have only a single land tile to approach from. Before advance tech, this could be extremely monotonous to capture.

Well there also could only be one defensive unit stationed in the city, so if you had an army conga-lining up the peninsula you'd still be able to wear that guy out even if you couldn't surround and demolish him with everything attacking on one turn.

I agree with Hansi about Aspyr though - I really miss when they were No 1 in terms of ports and communication with the Mac Gaming community (via the ever helpful Brad Oliver etc) I hope they're turning things back around and will Feral et al a run for their money

I'm waiting for the Mac port, but I did play the demo (first 100 turns). It's pretty fun; interface is greatly streamlined and much nicer to use. It was running great on medium settings on my 2008 iMac, but obviously it wasn't the later game yet...
Then again, I play Starcraft II in Bootcamp because the performance is so bad, so maybe I should just get it!

Buy it on Steam and when it hits Steam for OSX it's free. Play on either platform. Must say I'm mighty tempted myself.

Oh.
MacGamer posted a Civ5 interview over a week ago stating that a Mac version hasn't been announced yet but to stay tune, because civvers may see something they like later in the week. About ten days later, I posted in the forum there about it and the reply [MacGamer] was, no permission given yet to talk about it.
