Hi all,

I just got X-Plane and of course immediately wanted to install it on my new macbook pro.
Unfortunately the installer won't work, it gives an error on start-up. Since I also got an IMac, I tried to install it on that one, and it works like a charm.
So all is well, except for me buying a macbook for when I'm abroad for a few months, and want to use the game...

Is there anyone with the same problem, or anyone with options/solutions?

specs:
Intel Core i5; 2,4 GHz
4 GB
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M
And at the end, there will be....cake!

What error do you get? Anyway, since – so far – you only have problems with the installation and you could install the game fine on your iMac, you could simply copy over the folder to your Macbook (the Wonders of Mac™).

And, last but not least: welcome to this madhouse called the IMG forum.

Ah right, I'm going to try to copy it, should work indeed! Tried it before with portal so I don't know why I didn't think of that, thx :D
And thx for the welcome ;)

This is the install log from X-Plane, hope you can decipher it...

Okay, the log file doesn't really specify what the problem is (it only lists the capabilities of your GPU), so that doesn't really help. Should copying over the game's folder do not work, I would try and do what the log suggests: contact the X-Plane support. That guy is usually pretty helpful.

Copying worked, so that solves one problem, so at least I can play now.
I contacted the help-desk yesterday, and got an answer just now, in which she (not him ;)) asks me which color the dvd's are...so now answer there just yet.
But I'll just play the waiting game and see if it get's solved.

Thanks for the help :D
And at the end, there will be....cake!

Hi i'm Gianluca,

i got a new Macbook Pro i5 2,4 Ghz and i have exactly the same problem...

i have the same version of the installer from the six DVDs bought directly from Laminar. Did the support answered you back in the end to solve the problem?

Thanks in advance.
