Just came home to the emailed announcement: -

Quote

Hi Folks,

I am happy to announce that we have just released version 9.0 of CrossOver Games for both the Mac and Linux.

This release represents a major overhaul in CrossOver. It includes a completely new user interface for Linux and a revamped user interface for the Mac, which should make everything faster and more intuitive.

Further, this release includes over six month's work on Wine (over 8,300 individual patches), so you'll find a wide variety of other miscellaneous fixes and improvements.  Notable changes include support for the new Steam GUI, enhancements in many games, and support for a wide range of new games.

The most important new feature, however, is the new ability for CrossOver to use 'Compatibility Profiles', or 'c4p' files.  This gives our community the ability to create custom recipes which other users can employ for simple, one-click installations of unsupported games. This makes it much easier for people to get a wider range of titles working with CrossOver Games.

If you are an existing CrossOver customer with an active support entitlement, you can visit our web site to download this latest version:
http://www.codeweavers.com
You will need to log in with the email and password that you used when purchasing CrossOver.  Click on 'My Account' and then 'My Downloads' to download this release.  Please write to info@codeweavers.com if you need help with this process.

Thanks again for all your support, and I hope that you enjoy CrossOver Games 9!

Cheers,

Jeremy White

Great news. And as I had only just bought CX 8 recently I was able to download the new version for free :D Just need to see what the procedure is for upgrading etc and if it'll effect my current bottles.

That's some ironic timing right there.

You should read the corresponding press release. Hilarious.
