Wolfire Games, in cooperation with 2D Boy, Bit-Blot, Cryptic Sea, and Frictional Games, has unveiled The Humble Indie Bundle. The collection includes Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru HD, Penumbra: Overture, and World of Goo.

Purchasers are asked to pay whatever price they feel is fair for the bundle, with some of the proceeds going to the Child's Play and EFF charities. Those who purchase the bundle are also given the option to buy the remaining Penumbra games (Black Plague and Requiem) for the discount price of $5.

The Bundle
Five independent game developers, headed by Wolfire Games, have joined forces and created a bundle of games. The bundle consists of: Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru HD, Penumbra: Overture and World of Goo.

The Penumbra series is pretty fun—each of the 3 games has its own slightly different play style (the first having more “combat” of a sort, the middle having more stealth, and the last having more complex puzzles).

Already own each of these separately, but I bought the pack for a friend. Put the "all to devs" option. Charity is nice, but I'd rather support the indies straight up.

Pretty cool deal here.  I've tried the demos of both Aquaria and World of Goo quite some time back and liked but never got around to buying.  Penumbra I probably won't ever install because I hate horror, but at name your own price for the bundle that's irrelevant.

According to the Penumbra web site, if you get the Indie bundle (includes P:O) you can then go to their website to get the rest of the series for $5.

Yup, there's a code in a readme in the disk image you download for Penumbra that gets the cost right down to $5 for the whole collection. Stupidly, you end up having to download the first episode a second time as part of the collection, but oh well...

It definitely is a nice deal, although I already own the only three games of interest to me: WoG, Aquaria, and Penumbra.

I bought it too, then bought the $5 penumbra expansion as well. I was gonna donate $5000 and put my name on the top of the donaters list ... but I didn't have $5000 right now.

What a bunch of cheapskates.  I gave them $10 million, but they gave it back 'cause I'm so awesome.

The Humble Indie Bundle has now grown to 6 games, it appears.  Another company has thrown in their game, Samorost 2.  1-day-+ remaining if anyone hasn't picked it up yet.

Also, I like that they let me choose the platform I'll be counted for - even though my Mac has kicked the bucket, torn down the curtains, passed on to its final reward, etc. and I'm at this moment downloading Windows versions on my wife's PC, I still get to represent.

Yeah, most of them I downloaded for the pc because my mac isn't really too hip on the heavy graphical ones, but I chose Mac as where my donation came from.
