So how does one include a picture in one of these posts? I've tried clicking the picture button, but then a modal dialog box asks for a URL. I don't have a URL, I have a file on my hard disk. Does it want me to use file://? I've tried drag and drop but no luck.

You have to host it somewhere online.
Kestrel (Falcon NW Tiki) – 4.0 GHz i7 4790K / 16GB RAM / 512GB Samsung 950 Pro M.2, 2x480GB Intel 730 (RAID0), 10TB STX BarraCuda Pro / GeForce GTX TITAN X 12GB
Iridium (MacBook Pro Mid-2012) – 2.7 GHz i7 3820QM / 16GB RAM / 2TB Samsung 850 Pro / GeForce GT 650M 1GB

When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.

You can also use the URL of an image online - like one from Google Images. But yes, to use any images from your computer you need to upload them first to a photo sharing site. I happen to use photobucket, but any sight will do

Us pro users can attach images? I did not know that. Come to think of it, I don't think I have ever seen an attach button.

In a somewhat similar vein, how do I make the pictures I include in my posts go away?
I bring up the box to type my reply and then carefully affix the photo to my screen with tape. When I finish my response and hit 'Add Reply' the damn picture won't go away! It's still there on my screen! Can anyone else see this photo!? Why hasn't the photo gotten sucked into my response?! Why is the photo still there on my screen, mocking me! Maybe instead of using cheap old Scotch Tape I should use Magic Tape, because of its purported supernatural powers! Curse you, internet! You are so perplexing!

Maybe if you tried shoving it into the screen?? You could tape it to the end of the keyboard and then use it like a ram to hit the screen, that might work.

Be careful though, if you steal bandwidth from someone's personal site they're liable to stick something horrifying up there and then you're all kinds of screwed on whatever forum you posted on.

(I know because I've done this myself; someone had linked to a photo on my .Mac account and was eating bandwidth, I found out who and where, and changed the image to a jpg that said "I LIKE HARD MEN." The usage dropped off quickly thereafter.)

I'm pretty sure only mods and admins can attach stuff.  Here's a pic of the awesomely cool attachment system that hardly anybody will ever get to use, neener neener!  (Why it's being reduced by 95% is a bit of a mystery....)

Huh, well that sucks. Pro users should really be allowed to attach files, though probably without the unlimited attachment space. :)

Pro users ARE allowed to use the attachment system.  For some reason it is not working for them.  I'm moving this to the feedback forum.

I see the attachments thing when replying in "IMG Pro Users Forum" but not in the other areas.

OK, that helped point to the problem.  I've fixed the permissions to IMG Pro members, you should be able to upload now in all forums you can see except for the news and void forums.  Test it out and let me know.

Psst, this still kind of exists in General. And you have the honors of having the last post there. Except you don't. Well there, not here. Here it was Cobra (until I made this post).
