Bought COD4 a long time ago and never really played it since I had it on Xbox360. Sold the Xbox 360 and thought I'd try playing it on the iMac.
I've messed around with the settings but can't find anything suitable for gaming without a drop in frame rate.
I'm running:
OSX 10.5.8
iMac 2.8 ghz intel core duo
2 gigs of ram
ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO 256 MB
Running COD 4 - MAC version.
Best Settings for COD4 on iMac- MAC version

I'm wondering a similar question -- how to best configure COD4 for Mac.
I'm pretty clueless on FPS (I played through Damage Inc and the Rainbow 6 series, but never did much multiplayer until trying COD4)
I'm on a macbook pro: 2.2ghz i7, radeon 6750 (1gb), 4gb ram.
My questions:
- what should my expectations be in terms of performance for multiplayer?
- is it better to run native resolution, or to run lower resolution?
- how critical are: RAM, hard drive, and mouse? (currently using a logitech corded laser, which generally like, but isn't a gaming mouse)
Thanks,
Matt

RAM and Hard Drive don't matter much for gaming, other then game load times, they don't effect the actual in game performance at all.
As for a mouse, gaming mice have some nice features, but in the end, the best mouse in the one your most comfortable with. You'll be totally fine with that corded logitech one. Unless your thinking of going semi-pro in gaming, a gaming mouse isn't a necessity, just a luxury.
I'd expect you should be able to run COD4 on max settings most likely. Definitely put the resolution on full, and then change the other graphics settings starting at the highest and notch them down until the game play is fluid to your liking.
Then your all set, btw that's a beauty macbook pro you have.

For the OP, yourngraphicncardnis definitely the limiting factor. Try selecting a low resolution, low settings in general, and work your way up slowly. Resolution would be the biggest problem i assume, and not texture details.
