I got the email today - great news :)

Although it's frustrating waiting for a boxed product to be released .. I'm still awaiting X3:Terran Conflict so I hope HOI:3 comes out more quickly so I can buy it. I have bought a couple of digitial downloads in the past but I much prefer having a boxed product unless there's no other choice.

I just downloaded my copy and have played for about 15 minutes as Canada starting in 1936.  In the main menu there is an interface to download content from GamersGate.  Being weary of PC ports I think I'll ask here if the Mac version will work with the Gamers Gate content downloads?

Update:  I took the plunge and bought a few of the sprite and music addons.  The 'installation complete' dialogue is generic so it isn't always clear which piece of downloaded content was installed correctly.  Aside from that, everything seems to work as expected.

installed,so far i have no color on flags or land masses. there is something about using vertex buffer options. I also have a first gen imac with the x1600 which i do not see as a supported card. other then the color issue it works

the game does not support x1600 cards though it will run on it. some graphics are not working right but still playable.

Make sure you toggle "use vertex buffer objects' in the settings menu.

i did, that only helps apparently for some spelling of provinces. i talked to vp tech support and they say the game will run but the chipset itself is not supported so weird things can happen.

Anyone from VP that can confirm that this rumor is true? I wont buy any digital download version. Only boxed version works for me.

Roger that Dojoboy. That is no problem for me. I can wait. :)

Btw, what could be a good deal for VP is to sell a boxed version with a download option inbetween the release for the box. ;)

How do you like the add on sprites?
