New AoE III patches remove disk-based copy protection

And when I say "new" I do mean "a couple of weeks old", but somehow Macsoft appears to have failed to update their support site until now, so that it was not possible to actually find these patches. (Which lead to the strange situation that you could download the appropriate German versions from the German distributor, but not the original versions from Macsoft.)

Whatever.

Here are: Age of Empires III 1.0.5, Warchief 1.0.3 and Asian Dynasties 1.0.1.

Ooh, nifty. Downloading...I was playing this semi-recently and the disk stuff is indeed a bit annoying....

Good find & excellent news! The only real drag in playing one of my favourite games (inc. both exp. packs) now removed. :) Wish there was a similar fix for "AoE 2" & "AoMythology".

Oh, nice!

I really wish Aspyr would do this with Civilization, especially because the PC version no longer has a CD check...

Nice to see that Macsoft is still active. I'd also support dropping disc checks from AoM. And I don't suppose Rise of Nations could be made Universal?
