Hey everyone!

This Halloween marks the 7 years since the first public release of Natural Selection. Wow - that's longer than the average marriage. This "marriage" has a lot more biting, clawing and struggling than most (or does it?).

As most of you know, we've been planning on releasing NS2 in some playable form this Fall. Back in May, we thought that if the game wasn't done, at least it would be ready to play in an alpha or beta state at the very least. We wish we still thought that was true, but now we realize it isn't happening.

However, before we tell you what we have and haven't done, let us show you the first NS2 screenshots! Click the magnifying glass in the lower right after zooming for the high-res versions:

It does look very cool, but doesn't seem to be Mac-related, so I'm moving this to the Windows forum. If there are plans for a Mac version, I'll move it back....

I wondered about that, too, at first, but I dug into the FAQ on the official game site and it says that they are planning on bringing it to Mac after the Windows release.

Already posted in the old thread, even quoting the main dev: they use Mac and they are committed to bring a Mac version. Even the preorder serial will let you use the Mac version.

It is like talking about a Mac developing game. So please bring it back to Mac shooters. Thanks.

Alrighty then, back to Mac we go! Wheee!! Isn't this fun? If you don't mind, I'll just move this back and forth between forum categories for a while. (Yes, I am easily amused, why do you ask?)

Anyway, that's good to hear about the Mac version.

I quite like the graphics. It all looks like its been painted by hand. Of course, it has, but it helps that I think they're aiming for that look with their custom engine.

Looks interesting, and thanks for the link.

Doesn't look too shabby, but it reminds me an awful lot of the freeware FPS Tremulous.

If i remember correctly, Tremolous was a NS1 clone. NS was the first fps+rts realtime hybrid. Remember also this is pre alpha footage.
