Very strange. It doesn't work on any of the computers in the household. However it works on the iPhone's cell signal. Must be my ISP.
However I will watch as people view this thread hoping to catch any juicy specs on the new machines, here the are:
Core i9 'Bloomfield': 6 Core 3.0 GHz
ATI 5890 1 GB in Crossfire
8 GB's of DDR3 RAM
Blu-Ray
6' cubed of holographic 3D image field
Runs off of the earths magnetic field so it does not need to be plugged in
Price: $1099

But Apple is a fairly safe bet these days, so no harm done.
Macbook Pro - C2D 2.4Ghz / 4Gb RAM / WD Scorpio Black 320GB ( 255GB OSX v 42GB XP ) / Geforce 8600M GT 256Mb / 15.4"
Cube - G4 1.7Ghz 7448 / 1.5Gb RAM / Samsung Spinpoint 250GB / Geforce 6200 256Mb
We won! Apple offer the 17" with a matte screen! Well... at a price...

I'm invested about 40% in apple, 40% in MS, and 20% in Starbucks. So we'll see how it goes
Edit: Apple's releasing their Q3 statement on monday, so I'll throw in 100 percent of my funds then and see where it takes me

IMHO, with Blu-ray now a standard in similarly-priced PCs & still integrated graphics in the £1,000+ 24" iMac, these updates need to be better than usual if Apple are to continue attracting as many switchers as in recent years. IMO, Windows 7 needs only to be good enough, which going by most opinion, it is.

That looks confusing, so Ill just say "you feel me?"
As I said above, Windows releases are good times for Mac sales, and someone at Apple already said that lots of people basically have to start over when they update to the latest Windows, so why not make the jump over the Mac instead?

Sure do, man. I feel the vibe in those words.

Certainly the case in recent years & I hope it continues after Windows 7... which it might. Macs remain a compelling choice for many home users, including those running Windows, whilst a lot of the business/enterprise world might be better off sticking with XP for a while longer. Should be interesting to see how things pan out.

The only good things about the new displays is that they've got a pretty high pixel density, and they've managed to retain the IPS panels. The bad is that they're 16:9, and still covered in glass.
On the good side, though, we've got reputedly i5 and i7 quad core CPUs on offer for the 27" (though they're not interchangeable, so there's some nomenclature shenanigans going on here). GPUs are suitably anaemic aside from the solitary almost good option.
So really, its quite a good update, just with the damned 16:9 ratio...
The mouse looks interesting, though. It'll probably be fairly useless when it comes to distinguishing between a left and a right click, but it's design is very cool.
